Let's Get Started!
Think about the slide show and Frank Lloyd Wright's color choices. Some were bold and some were muted.
WATCH the video below for weaving instructions .
NOTE: I have already threaded your loom so you will start with the actual weaving. However, this video will be really helpful when you want to rethread our loom for a new project.

Weaving - Step by Step in Photos
Step #1: Select at least three colors of yarn. Select colors that remind you of the FLW designs.
Step #2 : Thread the needle with enough yarn for your entire color. This will be a "guestimate" - do your best, no worries!
Step #3: Start weaving from left to right. Go UNDER the first warp thread and OVER the next. Continue in this pattern to the end of the row.
Step # 4: Now you will start weaving back in the other direction. Place your needle OVER the first thread and UNDER the next. Continue in this pattern until the end of the row. Continue weaving back and forth, At the end of each row, gently push your weaving down toward the base of the loom.
Step # 5: Time to change colors!
You've got this. :)
End your color on the left side of the loom and leave a 3-4 inch tail. Thread your new color of yarn on to the needle. Start on the left side of the loom and remember to leave a 3 inch tail. Place your need UNDER the first thread and OVER the second. Continue in pattern.

Step #6 : Stop and look at your work. Are the tails on the left side? Have you pushed the work down evenly to it is forming a woven fabric?
GREAT WORK!
Continue weaving and adding colors until the loom is full.

Mrs. Witry needs a favor!
If at all possible, I would love a photo of your weaving. It does not have to be done - I would just like to show your progress as part of a grant that I am involved in.
Email your photo(s) to me at [email protected]
If you want to include your name and grade level in the subject line, that would be great.

NEXT WEEK: Finish your weaving and next week I will show you how to remove it from the loom and set up for another weaving project.
