Great Depression Stories

Story correction: The book in Our New American Home was built in 1926, not 1826 as stated!
Great Depression Story-in-Letters Assignment
Your story should contain:
  • at least three letters (150 - 200 words each)
  • at least three photos from the gallery
  • well-developed characters
  • a clear setting and time frame
  • a story that has a clear beginning, middle and end
Week #1 -(use provided format)
  •  Select a central photo from the Great Depression Gallery page.
  • Start to create characters -DETAILS make your story richer
  • Decide on a setting and time frame  (use internet resources to check dates)
Week #2 - Writing Workshop
  •  Begin writing letters (use sample story as a model for the format)
  • Be clear on who is writing and who is receiving the letters
  • Use REAL supporting details from the era    
Week #3- Book Creator/Peer Proofreading
  •  Peer proofread using the provided format
  • Make necessary changes
  • Create book
Week #4 - Finish the book!
  • Airdrop completed book to Mrs. Witry
  • Hooray!!!!
