Time to start your lesson . . .
- Start by deciding if you want to work on the first lined page or the first blank page. You may select either one. You will see that I picked a blank page because I like a blank paper for drawing.
- Write down the date, your location and the weather. For example: April 19, my backyard, sunny
- You should go into your backyard or front yard (with an adult's permission) and simply slowly walk around and look.
- Look up and look down! I want you to focus on all of the plants, grass and flowers that are just starting their spring growing season. You may either sit outside and draw the plant or flower that you have selected OR you may take a picture and work on your drawing inside. Either one is fine. (I took photos that you can see below.)
- When you are done with your drawing, go back and check the details. Is it lighter or darker in some place? What shape are the leaves?
- Add details to the page about other things that your heard or saw in your outdoor visit.
- Finally, take a picture of your lovely work and share it with me at [email protected] .
